FROM THE CONSISTORY OR COUNCIL
We welcome all visitors worshiping with us today. May God’s name be exalted as we worship together. The order of our worship service is printed on the back of the bulletin.
This morning we celebrate the Lord’s Supper. Supervision is exercised over the sacrament, so that only those who are members of our congregation in good standing, or those who have received special permission from the Consistory are allowed to partake of the sacrament. May we be worthy partakers of the supper of our Lord.
The sermon this evening will be an applicatory sermon.
Our pastor will be attending Classis East this Wednesday as a delegate ad examina. Classis East will meet at Georgetown PRC for the examination of Pastor-elect Joseph Holstege and Pastor-elect Justin Smidstra.
Catechism classes will not meet this week due to the Teacher’s Convention, and our pastor being gone to attend Classis East.
A singspiration has been scheduled for Sunday evening, November 12, after the evening service. We plan to sing from the revised Psalter sample. Myanmar Presentation: On November 5 after the evening service we plan to have a presentation on mission work being done in Myanmar. This past week Rev. Titus and his wife Cer te from Myanmar have had their visas approved to come to the United States. They plan to be in this country for about three weeks and are scheduled to be in this area from November 3 to November 6.

REQUESTED ANNOUNCEMENTS
The Young People’s Society corn maze activity will be held Friday, October 27, at Pumpkins on Garfield. The rain date will be the 28th. If you need a ride, please meet at church at 6:30 p.m. We will also be having a bonfire after the maze, so bring a lawn chair if you’d like. Each person will need to take $6 to cover the cost of the maze and the bonfire. Young people with the last names A-M please bring a 2-liter of pop, and last names N-Z please bring a snack to share.
Our Young People’s Society is once again taking orders for beautiful poinsettia plants. Please contact them if you are interested. Orders are due October 25, and plants will be delivered on November 29. Thank you for your support!
All women of the area churches are invited to attend the Fall Ladies’ League to be held at Calvary PRC on Tuesday, October 24, at 7 pm. Rev. Griess will be speaking on “Katharina Luther: Encouragement from a Woman of the Reformation”. An offering will be received for Protestant Reformed Special Education. Here We Stand, the seminary sponsored weekend conference celebrating the 500th anniversary of the Reformation, is only weeks away. The first speech is at 4:00 on Friday, October 27, with additional speeches at 7:00 and 8:15. The conference will continue on Saturday morning. The speeches will be delivered by our three professors, Rev. McGeown, Rev. David Torlach, and Rev. Key. Talk to your neighbors and friends and join us at Faith PRC for this important event.
