CONCERNING THE CONGREGATION
Carl Maassen is asked to write to Gary Brummel and Jeff Van Meeteren to Derick Grimm.
On Monday evening our heavenly Father took our beloved brother Henry Hoekstra to be with Him in heavenly glory. We express our sympathy to Brian and Pauline Kroese, Mark and La Beth Hoekstra, Jeff and Rose Andringa, Ted and Harriet Hoekstra, Flossy Brunsting, Margaret Hoekstra, and to their families. May the Lord comfort their souls in their sorrow. Because thou hast been my help, therefore in the shadow of thy wings will I rejoice. Psalm 63:7
We express our sympathy to Brian and Stephanie Van Engen and their family in the death of Stephanie’s grandmother, Penny Acker, who died Tuesday in Alabama. May our heavenly Father comfort them also in their sorrow.
The congregation is invited to witness the marriage of Jordana De Jong and Jesse Evans at 6:00 p.m. on September 15.
Shelby Altena and Jordana De Jong would like to thank all those who planned our shower. Also thanks to those who gave so willingly of their time and gifts. It is good to feel the communion of saints.

Visitors from Namibia and South Africa: From the Contact Committee: Last Tuesday three men from a small group of churches in Namibia arrived in Michigan to visit with the Contact Committee. A minister from Namibia, Rev. Jacobus LeRoux, and a minister from South Africa, Rev. Joseph Oosthuizen, plan to stay about 10 days. They are joined by another elder from Namibia, Michael Duvenhage, who was accompanied by his wife Tiene and three children. The purpose of the visit is to continue discussions of the similarities and differences between their newly forming group of Reformed churches and our denomination. This small group of six churches seeks guidance from the PRCA in the early years of separation from their mother denomination.
Installation for Rev. Doug Kuiper as professor of church history will take place Wednesday, September 20, at Faith PRC in Jenison, MI, at 7:00 p.m. Convocation exercises will also be included in which the student body of the seminary will be introduced.
