FROM THE CONSISTORY OR COUNCIL
We welcome all visitors worshiping with us today. May God’s name be exalted as we
worship together. The order of our worship service is printed on the back of the bulletin.
The baptism of Eliana Grace, infant daughter of Dave and Amanda Rozeboom, is
scheduled to take place this morning. We thank God for the gift of covenant children and pray
He will grant the parents the grace needed to raise this little one in the fear of His name.
The Council at their meeting on Monday plans to begin the process of nominating elders
and deacons. According to Article 22 of the Church Order, the Council is called “to give the
members an opportunity to direct attention to suitable persons.” Anyone desiring to
recommend someone for one of these special offices may make this known to any member of
the Council.
CHURCH CALENDAR
Monday: The deacons will meet at 7:00 p.m. followed by the Council at 8:00.
CONCERNING THE CONGREGATION
Nelson Oostra is asked to write to Gary Brummel and Gene Van Bemmel to Derick Grimm.
We express our sympathy to Kerwen and Catherine Kooiker and their family in the death of
Catherine’s grandfather, Ed Cammenga, who died on Tuesday. May the Lord comfort their
souls and draw them nigh unto Him. Verily, verily, I say unto you, The hour is coming, and
now is, when the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of God: and they that hear shall live.
(John 5:25)
We rejoice with the two couples who were united in marriage this past Friday, Blake and
Lanae Meyer (nee Hoekstra) and Matthew and Larissa Vanden Bosch (nee Burgers). May the
Lord richly bless these marriages that they may reflect the marriage of Christ and His church.
The congregation is cordially invited to witness the marriage ceremony uniting Joseph
Bootsma and Faith Poppema in our church on Friday at 6:00 in the evening.
