FROM THE CONSISTORY OR COUNCIL

We welcome all visitors worshiping with us today. May God’s name be exalted as we worship together. The order of our worship service is printed on the back of the bulletin.

With joy the Consistory announces that Jeremy Baker, Joel Mouw, and Linette Mouw have appeared before the Consistory to make confession of their faith. Unless there are any lawful objections, their public confessions of faith are scheduled to take place on July 24 during the evening service.

The date of the deacons’ meeting and the Council meeting have been changed from tomorrow to Tuesday.

Our pastor will be on vacation the next two weeks. Seminarian Joe Holstege is scheduled to preach for us both services next Sunday, and Rev. Brummel is scheduled to preach both services on July 17.

CHURCH CALENDAR

Tuesday: The deacons will meet at 7:00 p.m. followed by the Council at 8:00.

CONCERNING THE CONGREGATION

Dave Van Egdom is asked to write to Gary Brummel and Kalista Heynen to Derick Grimm.

We rejoice with Dave and Amanda Rozeboom who were blessed this past Tuesday with the birth of a daughter, Eliana Grace. Amanda and Eliana are both doing well. We give thanks to our God for this gracious gift.

Catherine Kooiker was having difficulty breathing and was taken to Sanford Hospital on Thursday. She remains there for observation.

Brian Westra had outpatient surgery on his right ankle and foot at Core Orthopedics of Avera in Sioux Falls on Friday. The surgery went well, and he returned home the same day. Let us remember Brian and his family in our prayers during this trial.

We rejoice with Mark and Shannon Van Maanen (nee De Kam) who were united in marriage this past Friday. May the Lord richly bless their marriage that it may reflect that of Christ and His church.

The annual church picnic will be held on Wednesday, July 20, at 6:30 p.m. at the Westside Park in Hull. There is a sign up sheet located in fellowship hall for those who will be coming. A hot sandwich and drink will be provided. You are asked to bring a hot or cold dish to share and your own table service. Pies are optional. Ice cream and dishes will be provided for dessert. Singles, widows, and widowers do not have to bring side dishes. We will again be setting up a bean bag toss tournament, so if you have a bean bag game, please bring it along. Work group three is in charge of the church picnic. There will be a sign up sheet for the work group for the work shifts.
