FROM THE CONSISTORY OR COUNCIL

We welcome all visitors worshiping with us today. May God’s name be exalted as we worship together. The order of our worship service is printed on the back of this bulletin.

The baptism of Michael Levi, infant son of Brian and Stephanie Van Engen, is scheduled to take place this morning. We thank God for the gift of covenant children and pray He will grant the parents the grace needed to raise this little one in the fear of His name.

The sermon this evening will be a preparatory sermon with a view to partaking of the Lord’s Supper next Sunday morning. Supervision is exercised over the sacrament, so that only those who are members of our congregation in good standing, or those who have received special permission from the Consistory will be allowed to partake of the sacrament. May we be made worthy partakers of the supper of our Lord.

The offering totals for the month of June were General Fund $21,468.19, Received YTD $135,103.16, Budgeted YTD $137,250, Benevolent Fund $4,175.19, Balance $36,106.06, Building Fund $4,972.50, Hull PRCS $7,291.16, Beacon Lights $339.25, Trinity CHS $5,593.25, Sunday School $378.85, and Reformed Witness Committee $390.80.

CHURCH CALENDAR

Tuesday: The Consistory will meet at 7:00 p.m.

CONCERNING THE CONGREGATION

Aaron De Jong is asked to write to Gary Brummel and Dayna De Roon to Derick Grimm.

We rejoice with Jordan and Brianna Tamminga (nee Zandstra) who were united in marriage this past Friday. May our heavenly Father richly bless their marriage that it may reflect that of Christ and His church.

From Lane & Tricia: With heavy hearts we left our appointment on Monday. Tricia was scheduled for labs, dr. appointment, and chemo following. The labs showed that her platelets were too low for treatment, so we will have to wait for them to come back up. Dr. Krie also did a CAT scan since there has been some pain in the lower abdomen area. The CT scan showed there is a blood clot in one of the veins that will need to be taken care of, but that cannot be done till her platelets have rebounded. So that will be rechecked tomorrow, and if they are up, she will begin shots to dissolve the blood clot. CT scan also showed the cancer is continuing to grow in the live, and that the current treatment plan is not working. Dr. Krie is going to start a new IV chemo regiment as soon as Tricia’s numbers are back up, but we were also informed that our treatment options are running out. We continue to pray that God will use the medical means for a measure of healing. Please pray for us as we go forward for contentment and perfect peace in God’s way for us whatever it may be and for renewed strength and courage. Please pray for our children as they struggle with fears and doubts as well. Let us continue to pray to our merciful and loving Father in heaven that He may draw Lane, Tricia, and their family ever nigh unto Him. “My soul followeth hard after thee: thy right hand upholdeth me.” Psalm 63:8

Marie Brummel is expected to be released from the hospital in Sioux Center sometime this week. Let us continue to remember her and her family in our prayers.
