FROM THE CONSISTORY OR COUNCIL

We welcome all visitors worshiping with us today. May God’s name be exalted as we worship together. The order of our worship service is printed on the back of this bulletin.

Our pastor will be on vacation this week. Next Sunday our pastor is scheduled to exchange pulpits with Rev. Griess in the morning and Rev. Engelsma in the evening.

The membership papers of the Matt Boonstra family have been transferred to Calvary PRC at their request. We commend them to the care of our sister congregation.

The baptism of Michael Levi, infant son of Brian and Stephanie Van Engen, is scheduled to take place on July 12 during the morning service.

CONCERNING THE CONGREGATION

Hannah Van Maanen is asked to write to Gary Brummel and Gene Van Bemmel to Derick Grimm.

Kandace Heynen’s surgery went well on Friday, and she is expected to return home today.

From the Van Egdoms: “Dave has been struggling with passing out since 2010. Last year we had a loop monitor placed internally to try to find out what causes these events to happen. A few weeks ago he passed out at work again (getting his second concussion within two years due to falling). Since we had the loop recording, he was diagnosed with syncope (sĭng′kə-pē), which is a brief loss of consciousness caused by a sudden fall of blood pressure or failure of the cardiac systole, resulting in cerebral anemia which is the heart pausing for several seconds. We have been advised by the heart doctor that placement of a pacemaker may help get this under control. Lord willing, next week Thursday we will have a pacemaker implanted to hopefully stop these events from happening. It is considered an outpatient procedure, but we are requested to stay in Sioux Falls overnight “just in case”, and for them to check the incision the next day.” Let us remember Dave, Missy, and their family in our prayers. For thou art my rock and my fortress; therefore for thy name’s sake lead me, and guide me. Psalm 31:3

CHURCH NEWS

Doon PRC has formed a new trio of Revs. Brummel, Eriks, and Haak from which they will call a man to be missionary to the Philippines.

This past week Rev. Brummel (FMC) and his wife Crysta and Jim Regnerus (Doon’s Council) and his wife Brenda arrived safely in the Philippines where they are scheduled to spend about two weeks. We are thankful to God for their safe travels and pray He will bless them in their labors.
