The baptism of Trevor Allen, infant son of Aaron and Kristen De Jong, is scheduled to take place this morning. We thank God for the gift of covenant children and pray He will grant the parents the grace needed to raise this little one in the fear of His name.

 

CHURCH CALENDAR

Today: The Young People’s Society will meet at 11:15 a.m. Bible discussion will be on Rev. 8:7-13. Bible discussion next week will be on Rev. 9:1-12.

Tuesday: Catechism classes will not meet this week. We will have Lesson 23 next week.

The FMC will meet here at 7:00 p.m.

Wednesday: WEALTH will not meet this week.

Catechism will not meet this week. The following are the assignments for next week: 7:00 Heidelberg Catechism: Lord’s Day 50; 8:00 Essentials: Lesson 29, Q. 4-8; Pre-Confession: Belgic Confession, Article 36.

CONCERNING THE CONGREGATION

Steve Kooima is asked to write to Gary Brummel and Brady Kooiker to Derick Grimm.

Jennie Van Maanen is scheduled to start radiation treatments tomorrow. She will have treatments Monday thru Friday for 5 weeks, and then possibly an extra seven days depending on what the doctors say. May our Father in heaven continue to grant His strength to her, Evert, and their family.

 

CHURCH NEWS

Rev. Holstege declined the call from Doon PRC to be a missionary to the Philippines.

Rev. Smit and his family will be moving from the Philippines to Grand Rapids this week, departing on Wednesday.

Each year Covenant ERC in Singapore requests that the Contact Committee of the PRC send church visitors in harmony with Article 44 of our Church Order. Revs. Key and Eriks are scheduled to arrive in Singapore this Friday.

A delegation from Hope PRC (Walker, MI) of Rev. Overway and elder David Jessup are presently in Myanmar laboring with Rev. Titus and the saints there. They plan to return later this week.

Young Reformers’ Bible study will meet on March 18 at 7:00. Rev. Engelsma will be talking about the Federal Vision.

The Hull PRC Young People’s Society invites everyone to join them in praising God at their Resurrection Day Sing­spiration to be held at Hull PRC on April 12 at 7:50 p.m.

The men of Edgerton PRC will be hosting the combined men’s society on Monday, March 23, at 7:30 pm. We will discuss Hebrews 7. The after recess topic is Articles 3 and 4 of the Church Order.

The annual fundraising drive of the Association for Protestant Reformed Education of Sioux Falls has raised $26,070. We now have a total on-hand amount of $130,620.72. We thank everyone for their generous support! The board has passed a motion to bring a proposal to the annual Society meeting in July to start a K-8 school in the fall of 2016. We thank God for bringing us to this point and ask for His continued blessing as we go forward.

Edmonton PRC YA Retreat 2015: Lord willing, the Edmonton PRC Young Adults’ Society will be hosting a retreat from Tuesday to Friday, August 4-7, 2015, on the theme “Knowing God even as we are known.” The speakers will be Rev.
