FROM THE CONSISTORY OR COUNCIL

Our pastor will be attending the meeting of Classis East this Wednesday as a delegate ad examina from Classis West to consider the emeritation request of Rev. den Hartog. Next week a pulpit exchange has been arranged for the second service. Rev. Griess will be preaching here while our pastor preaches at Calvary PRC.
The church visitors will be meeting with our Council this Thursday at 6:30 p.m. Anyone desiring to discuss something with the church visitors should contact the clerk.
Classis West is scheduled to meet on Wednesday, September 28, at Randolph PRC. Delegates from our congregation are elder Ken Hoksbergen and our pastor. An Officebearers’ Conference on “Biblical Counseling” is scheduled for the day before Classis at Randolph PRC.

The membership papers of Larissa Van Den Bosch (nee Burgers) have been transferred to Heritage PRC at her request. We commend her to the care of our sister congregation.
CHURCH CALENDAR
Today: The Young Peoples’ Society will have their annual business meeting at 11:15.
Sr. Young Adults’ Bible Study fellowship meets at 8:00 p.m. at the parsonage. The text for discussion will be the book of Jude.
Monday: The Consistory will meet at 7:00 p.m.
Tuesday: Morning classes in Bible History (Grades 1–7): Lesson 3.
Wednesday: Wealth will meet at 9:45 in Hull PRC to study Lesson 3. Marlys Kuiper, Lisa Schiermeyer, and Patty Pollema have lunch. Kim Bleyenberg is the upstairs helper, and Kolette Villalobos is the nursery helper.

Erika De Jong is asked to write to Gary Brummel and Leah Vink to Derick Grimm.
Darren De Jong returned home from the hospital on Monday.
Catherine Kooiker returned home on Wednesday.
Sydney Brummel had her appendix removed on Thursday at the hospital in Rock Valley. The surgery went well, and she returned home the next day.

CHURCH NEWS
Doon PRC has formed a trio of Revs. Brummel, Decker, and R. Kleyn from which they plan to call a missionary to the Philippines.

Christian Fellowship will have their opening meeting on Thursday, September 22. Supper will be provided and will begin at 6:30 followed by the annual business meeting. New members are welcome. Please sign up by the kitchen window if you plan to attend.
The Young Reformers’ Bible study will meet on Tuesday nights this season. We meet at Dordt College in the classroom building in room 1316 (down the hall from the theater). Our first meeting will be this Tuesday, September 13, at 7:00. Come and join us and bring a friend.
The Hull Protestant Reformed Grade School’s Fun Night will be held the evening of September 16. Everyone is invited to come and enjoy a fun evening of supper and games. Supper starts at 5:30 with games to follow. Hope to see you all there!
The Association for Protestant Education in Sioux Falls invites you to our annual lecture on Friday. October 14, at the Heritage Protestant Reformed Church at 7:30 p.m. Rev. Engelsma will speak on the topic “A Covenant School: How the Covenant Shapes Every Aspect of the Christian School.”
Help Needed: The 2018 Young People’s Convention Steering Committee is in need of people willing to serve on sub-committees for the 2018 YP Convention hosted by the area churches.
